Loving The Now

Practicing mindfulness during a turning point in your life sets the tone for your adventure together. Creating a set of mindful rituals with your partner can be life-changing.

Honoring Big Moments

What is Wedding Mindfulness?

You're getting married! You’ve set the date and now you are planning one of the most memorable and unique parties of your life… No pressure or anything.

Wouldn’t you want a magic wand to get a little boost in your thoughts or attitude whenever you needed? When we are faced with deadlines, choices that don’t match or other looming decisions that will affect our lives, our stress can build up. The choice between the two caterers or the bakery, or that venue you wanted is booked through 2025! What do you do?!

Take a breath in and press the pause button. Seriously. This is where I come in.

Regroup. Reset. And relax a bit.

Enter Wedding Mindfulness, a regular weekly practice of taking a breath and pausing. Simple but not easy. It takes practice and a guide (me) to help keep you on track. But the stress-lowering benefits are remarkable.

A quick demo looks a little like this: On your next breath in, focus all of your attention on it. Follow your breath all the way in. Stay in the present moment. Now, Exhale, riding your breath out. Do it for the next breath cycle. Follow your breath in. Find the top of your inhale and breath out slowly and smoothly, keeping your awareness firmly on your breath. See how long you can do this for with a laser focus on your breath. No other thoughts...

One by one, a thought or feeling will appear in your mind. You might get carried far away when you finally realize where you've gone. This is your mind doing its job. The second that you realize that you are no longer focusing on your breath is actually that point of true awareness. Good job! This is to be celebrated by observing your beautiful mind without judging, thanking it and then firmly escorting your awareness back to your breathing.

Practicing this over and over again is training. It's like going to the gym and exercising your muscles. But unlike the gym, you get to sit on your couch or in a beautiful forest or at the beach, you get the point. But like the gym, It takes commitment and practice. And the benefits will be apparent. Essentially, your mind takes a back seat and lets a truer part of yourself shine through.
